Situated in Christchurch, New Zealand, PG gallery192 is an art gallery representing leading contemporary New Zealand artists. It is directed by artists Marian Maguire and Nigel Buxton while the day to day running of the gallery is managed by Polly Gilroy.
PG gallery192 is housed in a converted villa on Bealey Avenue. The one-hundred-year-old villa was significantly remodelled after the Christchurch earthquakes and re-opened in March, 2015. Seeing it from the street, one wouldn’t expect to discover the exceptionally beautiful, generously scaled, gallery spaces one enters on opening the front door. While classical in its lines, the space is meditative and humane; exhibitions hang well in it.
At the rear of the property, is PaperGraphica Print Studio which has recently become Marian Maguire’s personal workspace.
