Aiko Robinson featured in top 12 exhibitions to see in November
Christchurch born artist Aiko Robinson‘s current exhibition ‘Folding in Forests’ at PG Gallery192 features in Warren Feeney’s article of top 12 exhibitions you must see in November.
As an artist of Japanese and New Zealand heritage, Aiko was lucky to be awarded the Monbukagakusho: MEXT scholarship, from the Government of Japan to enable foreign students to study at Japanese Universities. This has enabled Aiko to undertake her masters in printmaking at Tokyo University of the Arts.
“Robinson’s new lithographs are the outcome of her current residency at Tokyo University of the Arts. Drawing upon and reconsidering 17th century traditions of Japanese printmaking, in their titles, imagery and subtle irony, Robinson’s lithographs reaffirm the contemporary nature and relevance of printmaking in the 21st century.”

‘Folding in Forests’ opening night: Monday 5 November 5:30pm & runs to November 30.
