Philippa Blair

Philippa Blair (1945 – 2025) is a New Zealand-born international artist who returned to Auckland in 2014 after two decades living and working in Los Angeles. Born in Christchurch, she graduated with a Diploma of Fine Arts from Canterbury University in 1967. She exhibited her work internationally for more than fifty years, with over 100 solo exhibitions and over 300 group exhibitions to her credit. Her work is represented in public and private collections in New Zealand, Australia, USA, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Japan and  Malaysia.
Philippa Blair worked primarily as a painter but also made drawings and prints. Her works are expressive and semi-abstract, reflecting urban reality and the natural world with references to high tech and organic imagery, cartographic mapping, music and film.
